
Catherine Jane Ford (born 5 December 1969) is professionally known as Catherine Tate, is an English comedian, actress and writer. Tate has won numerous awards for her performances on the BBC sketch comedy show The Catherine Tate Show (2004-2007) as well as getting nominated for an International Emmy Award and seven BAFTAs. Tate was Donna Noble in Doctor Who's Christmas special in 2006. She then reprised her role as the Tenth Doctor's frequent companion throughout the fourth series. [2] Tate was the main character of Joanie Taylor ("Nan"), a comedy character that she played in The Catherine Tate Show (2009-2015). She also starred in The Nan Movie (2022). In 2011, Tate started an appearance in the role of Nellie Bertram on the U.S. edition of The Office. The role was a regular character until the show's conclusion. She played the role of Miss Sarah Postern (2013-2014), and Magica de Spell (2017-2021) in the BBC One sitcom Big School. Tate was one of six characters she performed in Hard Cell, a Netflix comedy series she wrote along with her husband.
